David Hasselhoff hospitalized again with Ear infection, not alcohol

David Hasselhoff was rushed to the hospital Sunday afternoon with alcohol poisoning, renewing his family’s and his fans’ fears that his drinking problem is out of control. The former “Baywatch” star’s daughter Hayley called 911 to his Encino home after he went on a bender for more than a day, Radar Online reported. The 17-year-old was said to be crying heavily as she accompanied him to the medical facility.

Paramedics were called to Hasselhoff's home on Sunday after his daughter, Hayley, 17, grew worried about his latest alcohol binge, TMZ reported. A Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman confirmed the call to Hasselhoff's home.

Reps speaking for Hasselhoff Monday told TMZ that the former "Baywatch" star agreed to go to the hospital when the ambulance arrived, not because he was inebriated, but to help with an "equilibrium problem" caused by a mixture of medications.

They said Hasselhoff was taking a drug called Antivert, for his ear problem, and also Antabuse, which deters alcoholics from drinking.

"David's fine and he's on his way to jury duty today," his lawyer, Melvin Goldman, told People magazine.

Hasselhoff is a recovering alcoholic who was briefly hospitalized four months ago after a relapse.

RadarOnline.com says "the Hoff" has been hospitalized with alcohol poisoning "more than five times in the past few years."
